Biometric scanners
Biometric scanners are devices that identify or verify a person based on their unique biological characteristics. They’re widely used for security, authentication, and access control in both physical and digital environments.
How Do They Work?
- Capture: Scanner records a biometric sample (e.g., a fingerprint).
- Feature Extraction: System identifies unique patterns (like ridges or eye structure).
- Comparison: Compares input with stored biometric templates.
- Match or Deny: Grants or denies access based on match result.
